Acceptable Thoughts

One thing that we are more easily able to keep hidden from other people are our thoughts. We can even, if we choose, hide our true thoughts from those closest to us. But the Bible shows us in many places that God knows all our innermost thoughts and desires. Jesus was also able to know the unspoken thoughts of those around Him as seen in Mark 2:6-8.
So how do we remember that God sees and knows all that we think in our minds and desire in our hearts? The great psalmist David wrote at the conclusion to his beautiful Psalm 19, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer” (v. 14).
David’s desire was for all that he thought and all that He said to be acceptable to God. He only wanted to say and think and thus do, those things that God would approve of.
How about you? Have you asked God to shape and direct your thoughts, words and deeds today? I pray that God will fill you with the wisdom that you need and that His Spirit will guide and direct you all through today and also the weekend.

Love you all, Darroll
